Day 1

Arrive in Nimbokrang

The tour starts with arrivals into Sentani Airport in Jayapura (DJJ) continuing to the lowland forests of Nimbokrang at the base of the imposing Cyclops Mountains, where we will be based for the next four nights at a basic lodge.

Day 2

Jungle Trekking

Namblong is an Indigenous group living in Nimbokrang, Papua, along the biodiverse Grime Valley. From mountains to coast, their culture and traditions reflect a deep connection to the land. Despite modernization since the Dutch era, the Namblong people continue to preserve their ancestral lifestyle through farming, hunting, and forest-based living.

 

Visitors can explore ancient trade paths, spot wildlife, and enjoy traditional cuisine made from tubers, sago, and open-fire-cooked meat or fish. Rich in nature and culture, Namblong offers a meaningful experience for travelers seeking authenticity, wilderness, and the living heritage of Papua’s Indigenous communities.

Day 3

Birdwatching in Nimbokrang

Nimbokrang has long been a prime birdwatching destination in Papua, attracting birders, researchers, and photographers eager to explore its rich avian diversity. Home to six species of Birds of Paradise, it also offers sightings of the majestic Victoria Crowned Pigeon, Northern Cassowary, and Red-legged Brush Turkey. The region’s dense forests provide for many endemic birds, making it a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. With expert local guides are Indigenous Papua and well-preserved habitats, Nimbokrang remains one of the best places to experience Papua’s extraordinary birdlife in its natural environment.

Day 4

Transfer to Sentani

Indigenous tribes who live around the lake live in the traditional stilt houses stand above the water, and small wooden boats are their main form of transportation. Visitors can explore the calm lake, meet the locals, and get a glimpse of their traditional way of life—from fishing to creating intricate bark paintings. The stunning lake views, combined with waterbird sightings and a rich cultural heritage, make Sentani a unique destination. A visit here offers a rare insight into a community living in the middle of town yet still deeply connected to nature, preserving traditions passed down through generations.

Day 5

Transfer to Raja Ampat

Upon arriving at Sorong Airport, you will be greeted by our representative, who will escort you to the city port. Together, you’ll take a ferry to Waisai on Waigeo Island in Raja Ampat. After a two-hours ferry ride, your driver will pick you up and take you to your hotel by car. Relax and enjoy the remainder of your day at leisure.

Day 6

Piaynemo, Arborek and Kri Island

We begin with climb to the iconic Piaynemo Peak for a breathtaking view of karst islets surrounded by turquoise waters, the nearby Melissa Garden, one of the world’s richest coral reef sites. Continue to Telaga Bintang, a star-shaped lagoon with crystal-clear waters, ideal for a photo stop. After lunch, head to Arborek, an ecotourism village where you can snorkel right off the pier and witness vibrant coral gardens filled with colorful fish and possibly manta rays. Next, visit Sawandarek, famous as “Turtle City,” where you can encounter resting turtles and spot rare porcupine rays gliding through seagrass beds. End the trip with a stop  in Kri Island for last stop, a sandbars that rises at low tide and beautiful coral reef , creating the perfect last stop for an unforgettable memories before returning to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 8

Birdwatching bird of paradise

Raja Ampat Island is home to two standout bird species. The Wilson’s Bird-of-Paradise is perhaps the most stunningly colorful bird in the world, observed from purpose-built hides. In the treetops, male Red Birds-of-Paradise form noisy leks, showcasing their highly-evolved dance moves whenever a female stops by.

Day 8

Free in Paradise

Wake up to the sound of birdsong and waves. Enjoy your breakfast while admiring the crystal-clear waters. Relax on your homestay terrace, read a book, or grab your fins and mask for snorkeling to explore the surroundings.

 

Alternatively is optional activity for a scuba diving excursion or a discovery scuba session.

Day 9

Depart from Waigeo to Sorong

Today, we will conclude our trip with a wake up to the sound of birdsong and waves. Enjoy your breakfast while admiring the crystal-clear waters followed by heading to the port to take a fery to transfers to Sorong.

Transfer to the airport

Today, start your day with your breakfast followed by heading to the airport.
