Trip highlight

This trip is not just about the adventure—it’s also a chance to experience the rich culture and history of the Namblong people.  Namblong is an Indigenous tribe living from the mountains to the coast along the Grime Valley. Their land is rich in biodiversity and cultural traditions that vary depending on where they live.

Though modernization has influenced their way of life since the Dutch era, the Namblong people continue to preserve their culture, traditional lifestyle, and rich food heritage. They still rely on farming, hunting, and forest-based living, maintaining a deep connection with their ancestors. Visitors can experience their rooted traditions, walk ancient trade routes filled with wildlife encounters, and explore their unique cuisine—featuring tubers, sago, and meat or fish cooked over open wood fires. Namblong is a truly special destination for those seeking wild nature, authentic culture, and traditional flavors in Jayapura.
